This road surface profilometer consists of hardware(modular components) and software, which is widely used for inspecting the indices and characteristics of highway, pavement, airport runways, etc.
The device adopts laser sensor, accelerometer and DMI, which allows the testing for IRI (International Roughness Index), MPD (Mean Profile Depth), SMTD (Sensor Measured Texture Depth), etc.. In order to achieve different functions, the sensors can be configured from single to 17pcs according to customer’s requirement. The road surface profiling device is ideally suitable for both highway and airport.

Pavement cracks, pits and other diseases that cause road surface technical conditions or road surface performance degradation are generally called as road surface damage. The severity of road damage seriously affects the speed of the vehicle and road.
This laser crack measurement system is 2D version, which adopts line-scan camera and the infrared laser to continuously collect the data of the asphalt pavement and cement concrete pavement. Based on the collected images of the pavement to identify the asphalt pavement disease (11 types of disease such as crack, block crack, etc.)
The laser system adopts the high resolution line-scan camera to seamlessly scan the lanes at longitudinal 1mm distance, each 2048mm forms a road image. Infrared laser-assisted illumination is used to achieve normal detection of road in all weather conditions and special environments (such as tunnels, culverts, cloudy days, nights, etc.) to obtain real road images.

This high-precision walking profilometer is designed with an imported angular sensor & tablet. The pavement longitudinal profile can be measured during operator push-walking at normal speeds up to 3km/hr, then outputs such as IRI and SMTD(MPD) can be produced through calculation of mathematical models.
The walking profiometer can be widely used for inspecting quality of pavements, footpaths, tunnels, airport runways and building slabs, or being reference tool for calibrating & assessing for vehicle type high speed profilers.
